Täällä – local sustainability, legible at a glance

A four-person team concept service connecting Lahti families to local sustainable businesses. Pivoted from percentage scoring to a five-level smiley rating that residents could read at a glance and business owners could discuss without statistical literacy.

The growing clutter in Earth's orbit

Space is getting crowded, and almost nobody can see it. Built from 24,886 launch records into a single, legible frame, structured to take a non-technical viewer from a question to a conclusion in one read. Five integrated figures, black-and-white, A2.

Hidden Dublin – a student cultural map, grounded in research

A solo concept map surfacing affordable, authentic cultural spaces across Dublin for students. Built from a Typeform survey, synthesised through the Double Diamond, and designed around the psychology of Dublin's bus colours – moss green, bright yellow, no sharp edges.

About

Portrait of Rihards Zeps Dublin · 2026

I work at the intersection of service design, UX research, and sustainability. The kind of design where the deliverable isn't just an interface – it's also the framework, the rating system, the journey, the way a stakeholder explains a thing to someone else without losing the meaning.

I recently completed an Erasmus year at IADT Dublin, where I added a cultural-industry lens to the methods I picked up at LAB Finland's Institute of Design. Before that, I spent five years building and operating a live product on Roblox – which taught me more about microcopy, friction, and what users actually do versus what they say than any course could.

I'm looking for a 5–6 month internship starting September 2026, ideally with a team working on circular-economy services, sustainable product development, or design-led digital tools at scale. Latvia is home; English, Latvian, Russian, and intermediate Finnish are working languages.
